Summary

Job Summary

Under the general supervision of the Director of Surgical Services and direct supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Certified Surgical Technologist (CST), acts in a support role in Surgical Services. Under direct supervision, is accountable for the care and safety of patients specific to the needs of the patient population.
 
Job Responsibilities
  • Under the supervision of the RN or CST, takes responsibility and actively participates in case set, scrubbing cases, patient safety, and assisting other team members.
  • Demonstrates a positive attitude and eagerness to learn the role of the CST.
  • Listens and accepts feedback on performance including constructive criticism and adjusts accordingly.
  • Actively communicates with staff and supervisors to gain experience necessary to become proficient in scrubbing in all basic cases.
  • Responsible for the in-servicing and safe operation of all surgical equipment.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma, General Equivalency Diploma (GED) or higher required upon hire
  • No experience required
  • BLS - Certified as a Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider required within 90 days of employment in this position
