Summary

Job Summary

Assists with the daily coordination of personnel and resources within a clinical specialty or department.
 
Job Responsibilities
  • Coordinates staff scheduling, educational and development activities, and performance evaluations.
  • Identifies and resolves issues affecting the delivery of clinical services.
  • Performs quality assurance studies and assists with implementation of quality assurance (QA) and quality improvement (QI) initiatives.
  • Serves as a resource to staff and external contacts on issues related to patient care, patient flow, clinical standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Monitors departmental compliance with applicable requirements, including accreditation, legal, and The Joint Commission.
  • Assesses, evaluates, plans, implements, re-assesses, and re-evaluates the needs of the patient/family.
  • Ensures appropriate care is provided specific to the needs of the patient population.
  • Performs other staff related duties.
  • Provides health educational needs for patients/families.
  • Manages patient care assignment.
  • Provides patient care as needed.
  • May be required to place daily orders for special-order supplies as needed and maintains an adequate inventory.
  • Performs staff level duties as needed and required in assigned area.
Qualifications
  • Associate's degree or higher in Science required upon hire OR
  • Associate's degree or higher in related field required upon hire OR
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Nursing
  • A combination of education, training and experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
  • A minimum of 2 years' relevant experience required
  • RT(R) - Registered as a Radiological Technologist in Radiology required upon hire AND
  • ROC - Radiation Operator Certification in the state of Kentucky required upon hire OR
  • RN - Licensed as a Registered Nurse. Eligible to practice nursing in the State of Kentucky required upon hire AND
  • BLS - Certified as a Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider required within 90 days of employment in this position
