Summary

Job Summary

Provides clinical expertise and care related to nutritional support in an outpatient setting.

Job Responsibilities

  • Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates educational programs for patients concerning nutrition.
  • Offers general health management for nutrition patients and groups. Distributes education literature to patients.
  • Responsible for community programming and education.
  • Oversees the weight management program for adults.
  • Coordinates and helps to facilitate children's weight management program.
  • Conducts presentations to groups of all sizes regarding nutrition education/cooking classes.
  • Provides education and training for patients and healthcare providers on the theories, principles, and practices of specialized nutritional support.
  • Participates in and generates research and outcomes studies relating to specialized nutritional support.
  • Represents Healthpark in community as nutrition expert.
  • Writes articles for local newspapers, speaks to groups, and regularly speaks with media on topics.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Food Service Management required upon hire OR
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Nutrition required upon hire OR
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in related field required upon hire
  • A combination of education, training and experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
  • No experience required
  • Dietitian - Licensed Dietitian in the state of Kentucky required upon hire AND
  • BLS - Certified as a Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider required within 90 days of employment in this position
