Summary

Job Summary

Directs day-to-day activities and operations of assigned practices and/or programs related to the practice, including clinical and non-clinical functions.
 
Job Responsibilities
  • Ensures department compliance with state and federal regulatory requirements.
  • Assists and participates in the posting, recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and on-boarding of all new providers.
  • Monitors department contracts and vendor relations.
  • Oversees the provider time out and and clinic scheduling.
  • Assists the providers with meeting quality goals as outlined by administration and ensures the goals are tracked.
  • Coordinates with Professional Billing to ensure charges are captured accurately and timely, as well as, participate in the review of provider chart audits.
  • Assists with hiring, orienting, training, directing, developing, mentoring, scheduling, evaluating, and terminating clinical and office staff as required to ensure efficient and effective office work flow, according to Owensboro Health policy.
  • Reviews all insurance requests for records for any possible concerns and if any concerns, communicates with the appropriate department(s).
  • Performs and oversees scheduling of staff time off, staff coverage, and payroll.
  • Responsible for Rounding to Influence with staff, physicians, and patients in the clinic. Documents the rounding on the organization spreadsheet.
  • Responsible for ensuring that all physicians and personnel have adequate knowledge of and adhere to Owensboro Health Medical Group (OHMG) and Owensboro Health policies, procedures, and protocols as well as state regulations, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA), physician and staff licensure requirements and other regulatory compliance policies.
  • Plans monthly provider meetings in collaboration with physician leader of practice executive committee.
  • Identifies and resolves issues affecting the delivery of patient care services in the clinic.
  • Assists in troubleshooting issues with the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
  • Manages strategies to maintain and improve quality.
  • Develops department budget for the clinic that follows established financial goals.
  • Monitors and adheres to annual operating budget.
  • Determines and justifies need, approves and/or monitors expenditures, and purchases and performs other actions to ensure compliance with budget guidelines.
  • Monitors usage of and oversees proper working order of systems and equipment.
  • Assists with developing and monitoring the status of specific department goals, standards, and objectives which directly support the strategic plan and vision of the organization.
  • Manages staff relations including performance management, staff satisfaction, and conflict management.
  • Establishes and maintains relationships with referral sources within the Owensboro health service area through marketing and networking.
  • Coordinates provider meetings with administration, legal, committees, etc. as required.
  • Serves as primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care, in an effort to provide efficient patient services specific to the needs of the patient population.
  • Collaborates with system entities and providers related to program marketing, referral management, and growth of practices and programs.
  • Oversees denials management and works with hospital and insurance payers to recoup monies.
  • Develops financial and business office policy and procedures for the clinic/program.
  • Evaluates financial trends and revenue opportunities.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Business Administration OR
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Healthcare Administration OR
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in related field reqired
  • A combination of education, training and experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
  • A minimum of 5 years' relevant experience required
  • BLS - Certified as a Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider required within 90 days of employment in this position
