Summary

Job Summary

Provides distributive pharmacy services, assistance, and support for the registered pharmacist.
 
Job Responsibilities
  • Processes prescriptions and requests for refills from patients.
  • Orders and maintains inventory.
  • May communicate with healthcare providers, insurance companies, and patients in person or via telephone as needed.
  • Inputs privileged health information into computer system.
  • May refill and maintain automated dispensing system.
  • May perform IV fluid activities and IV admixture functions including IV chemotherapy.
  • May perform service technician functions including operating rooms by distributing and maintaining room trays and anesthesia boxes.
  • May perform narcotic technician functions.
  • May perform medication reconciliation
  • May perform meds-to-beds
Qualifications
  • High school diploma, General Equivalency Diploma (GED) or higher preferred
  • No experience required
  • Pharmacy Tech - Registered as a Pharmacy Technician in the state of Kentucky required upon hire AND
  • CPhT - Certified Pharmacy Technician through Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or National HealthCareer Association (NHA) required within 6 months of employment in this position
